Woke up to tranquility …. a room with a view for sure. There is a little balcony outside my room and i can go out onto it to take photos of the river and back at the little room with palm trees on both sides and the heavenly scented but funny looking flowers under my window… I will come back to this place for sure!! Ate my breakfast looking at the thrilling news that at least the house is now out of creepy Trump’s hands and such a close race for the Senate… I have a song in my heart that my faith in humanity is restored a bit … way to go Voters!!!

Then we set off for the Agormanya Market (after the regular tussle with a Bank) … This market is every Wednesday and has a large section dedicated to beads … I was in heaven browsing the beads and then bargaining for the best prices!! Since i do know my beads now bargaining is actually fun as i am very sure of the price i think will work back home but what is fair to the Trader…and i have my trusty iphone to help me convert the money.. still a lot to juggle especially now that i must include considering the cost of posting the beads. The women traders are quite straight forward and treat me like one of them … giving me good prices. The men, however, are a more contrary bunch.. even though they know me they try and get the highest price but i can stand my ground now! Exhausting but absorbing time :)

Packing up the tro tro after Market Day

The last photos are of my favourite Trader at the market … i just love her beads. Last time we went to her house to see one of her beads being made. Such an amazing process … the Bead Maker has made a small crucible or mould and then bit by bit he puts different layers of different coloured powders into the mould painstakingly creating a design. Each bead is done like this and then fired in an oven that looks a lot like Montreal Bagel Ovens… This time i got some of her beads that she has done with clear blue glass and rock … very beautiful. I have included an overall photo of her booth and then close ups of each section. This is for my Beady Clients ….. I thought you might enjoy perusing through them like i did ….
