There is a small village, Kokofrom just outside Kumasi, Ghana where there are artisans who make lost wax brass beads in the same way as their ancestors. These brass disk were made for Funky Frog. The brass disks are great spacers and give the project something a bit different. These disks are about 1x7-11mm. They are handmade so will vary in size, shape and colour. The artisans use whatever scrap metal they can get their hands on from old taps to pipes to .. but they call it 'brass'. 10 disks / $5 -

This is a mixture of three designs, two are cross hatches and the third is more solid with a circular design. You will get a mix like in the photo. $5/6 beads -

These small brass bells are about 11mm. The bells don't make a noise when shaken on their own but paired up they make a lovely jingle. There are now 4 sizes in this bell... xtra large, large, medium and small ... these are the smallest size. $2/bead -

A strand of Brass Heishi Metal Spacer Beads found by Funky Frog's Trader in Ghana and probably made in Kenya. These heishi beads are 3 mm strung on string 24" long. These beads are great for any project as an added touch. -
6 beautiful small Brass Sun + Moon Beads. Approximately 12 mm x 20 mm in size. You will receive 6 beads similar to those in the image. These beads are handmade so will vary in size, shape and colour. These beads are made using the labour intensive Lost Wax method where a mould is made of beeswax. This is packed in a muddy mixture with a hole at the top. This whole crucible is heated so the beeswax mould melts and metal that has been melted on another fire is poured in replacing the beeswax! And remember this is done under a scorching sun!! Amazing to see. $12/ 6 beads -

The hole is on the flat side of the beads, so this bead acts as a thick spacer bead and you can see the cross hatch design....
