Small brass Sun Disk Bead about 25 mm x 17 mm . These beads have a greenish patina. Originally found in West African countries such as Ghana, boule beads are made from brass and strung to produce beautiful jewelry. These beads were originally used to make ornaments such as necklaces and bracelets that would serve as symbols of power, wealth and status in society. $1.50/ bead -
Beautiful large Brass Sun and Moon Bead. Approximately 2.5" x 1.5" in size. You will receive a bead similar to those in the image. These beads are handmade so will vary in colour, size and shape. These beads are made using the labour intensive Lost Wax method where a mould is made of beeswax. This is packed in a muddy mixture with a hole at the top. This whole crucible is heated so the beeswax mould melts and metal that has been melted on another fire is poured in replacing the beeswax! And remember this is done under a scorching sun!! Amazing to see. $6 each -
