A very delicate large dark Wooden Pendant with a smaller Pendant inside handmade in Togo, West Africa. I found these pendants in the amazing Suntrade Bead Store in Accra, W. Africa. The hole is at the thick end going side to side all the way through the two pendants. The large pendant is about 5 x 1 3/4" with the smaller inset pendant being about 3 1/2 x 1". $18/2 pendants -

This Elephant Pendant is part of that batch. Since i had actually seen elephants during this 2016 Bead Hunt i was especially partial ! The elephant is about 3 1/4 " (not including his trunk) His curled tail is the eyelet for that leather or cord to make it into a super necklace... -

It is a circle 1 3/4" in diameter with an embossed Adinkra Symbol, Circles or 'Adinkrahene' . This is considered the 'Chief of the adinkra symbols' as a symbol of greatness, charisma and leadership. The Circle is is about 3.5" more or less. "The circle is a universal symbol with extensive meaning. It represents the notions of totality, wholeness, original perfection, Oneness, the Self, the infinite, eternity, timelessness, all cyclic movement, God ('God is a circle whose centre is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere' (Hermes Trismegistus))." This is a beautiful extra large Looking Back Pendant handcrafted in Ghana, W. Africa. The Pendant is a whopping 4 x 3 1/2" . Sankofa is a word in the Twi language of Ghana that means "Go back and get it" (San – go back; ko - to go; fa - to fetch, to seek and take). The Sankofa symbol is one of the more popular and recognizable of the Adinkra symbols. The symbol is illustrated two ways; 1) by a bird with its head turned backwards retrieving an egg on its back, or 2) as a stylish heart-shaped design. The image of the mythological bird with its head looking backward is seen as a symbol of embracing one’s heritage or returning to a person’s roots. It reinforces the idea of community and family and using past experiences to help build a better future.
