These beads are becoming hard to find as Mali is struggling at this time. -
Funky Frog orders a lot from the Kokofrom Cooperative outside Kumasi. These tiny silver heishi or spacer beads were made especially for Funky Frog . The process these Metal Smiths are using is the same as their ancestors... back then it was gold now it is any metal they can get their hands on!! Hence the name. These beads have the solidity and heft of old coins. There is delicate engraving on each bead. These beads are getting harder to find especially ones of this quality. The Traders blame this on Mali's difficulties.
