A large bracelet sized strand of about 12 extra large hand painted Recycled Glass Beads which is strung on string. The beads are about 30x16 mm and are a white and red Sandcast Bead with a Handpainted orange design. The beads are all handcrafted so will vary in colour, size and shape. The strand you will received will be similar to the photo but may have variations in colours. These recycled glass beads were handcrafted in Ghana, Africa by crushing old, discarded glass, adding colorant and then pouring the powder into clay molds. The stem of a local plant is added, this burns away during firing, leaving a hole for stringing. The beads are fired in a wood burning earthen oven. The beads are then hand painted and then refired. A gorgeous strand of 55 small bright orange with white,green and red designs Fused Recycled Glass beads on string 21" long. These recycled beads were bought directly from the small factory, TK Beads in Accra, Ghana where the artisans hand make the beads in the labor intensive method of their ancestors from crushing glass to baking the final product in wood ovens. These beads are made by recycling previously used beads! The beads are melted together in a clay oven to make this beautiful mosaic of colors, orange and clear glass. Each bead is approx. 8 mm... size 3. The beads are handcrafted so will vary in size, colour and shape. -

Usually Ghana's recycled beads are quite rough, Tet Beads was the first place Funky Frog found these polished glass beads. Remember these beads are made by hand so each bead is polished individuallly. The polished beads come in 3 sizes and various colours. There are sizes 1 (8 mm) size 3 (10 mm) and size 4 (12 mm). -

A strand of 32 soft orange Recycled Glass beads strung on string 24". The beads have a smooth polished finish and are a 9 x 20 tubular shape that tapers at each end. These beads are designed by an innovative designer (seen adding up my beads in photo!) who has a cottage industry making beads by hand just outside Accra.
