A strand of about 39 pink Sandcast Recycled Glass Beads strung on string 23" long. The beads are around 15x10 mm. These recycled glass beads were handcrafted in Ghana, Africa by crushing old, discarded glass, adding colorant and then pouring the coloured powder into molds. The stem of a local plant is added, this burns away during firing, leaving a hole for stringing. The beads are fired in a woodburning earthen oven. Ghana is famous for this type of bead. These beads were designed and made by a Contemporary Bead Designer, TET located near Accra.

The beads are handmade so will vary in size, shape and colour. After some research it seems these beads are probably Howlite a stone or gem in and of itself but also well known for its ability to be dyed and look like other stones/gems. Howlite is a stone of patience and perspective, for those who feel they need to slow it down, absorb, and clear the constant stream of chatter from the mind, it's a crystal that marries you to a more mindful way of life. So not 'real' turquoise' but still a treasure!
