These beads are made by recycling previously used beads, Ghana's answer to Fimo Beads! The beads are melted together in a clay oven to make this beautiful mosaic of colors. Each coin shaped bead is approx. 11x22 mm. The beads are handcrafted so will vary in size and shape. You will receive one of the strands in the image. Funky Frog orders a lot from the Kokofrom Cooperative outside Kumasi. These tiny silver heishi or spacer beads were made especially for Funky Frog . The process these Metal Smiths are using is the same as their ancestors... back then it was gold now it is any metal they can get their hands on!!
