A strand of 23 striking Mustard Yellow Recycled Glass beads strung on string 25". The beads have a smooth polished finish and are a 12 x 26" tubular shape. These beads are designed by an innovative designer (seen adding up my beads in photo!) who has a cottage industry making beads by hand just outside Accra. Back by popular demand .... Earth Butter Beads are hand rolled by women from a disadvantaged rural community near Cape Town, South Africa. Desiree designs, glazes and fires the beads in her pottery studio. These colourful beads captured my heart and are amongst the few beads i don't actually go and buy (though it is definitely on my bucket list!) These were found in the Agboblushi Market in Accra ... the trader said they were from Abijhan, Cote d'Ivoire ... they remind me of fimo beads with a soft smooth feel .. the bead is round but squashed about 14x23 mm with a large almost 3mm hole .. the beads are handcrafted so will vary quite a bit in shape, size and pattern.
