A strand of various Fancy African Recycled Glass Beads handcrafted in Ghana. The strand is about 13" long and the large Bodom bead is 21x28mm. These beads were bought in the Agormanya Market from the wonderful Bead section there... from the stall of the Queen of the market. She introduced these beads using old material to make heritage beads very much in the old style. There are two strands to choose from. There are slight variations in the strands but the strands are quite similar. But these are handmade so will vary in colour, size and shape. -

Desiree designs, glazes and fires the beads in her pottery studio. These colourful beads captured my heart and are amongst the few beads i don't actually go and buy (though it is definitely on my bucket list!) Funky Frog has over the years gathered quite a collection. With Desiree's blessing Funky Frog is offering some of these beads. This way i can destash a bit so i can buy more!!! Always more!! Brass Heart Pendants .... some were found in Ghana's beads markets and some were made for Funky Frog by the Kokofrom gang near Kumasi in Ghana. These hearts are handmade and you will not find two that are exactly the same even though they could be the same design! The heart is a symbol that needs no research or explanation ... :) Ghana is famous for Lost Wax Brass beads.... The process these metal smiths are using is the same as their ancestors... back then it was gold now it is any metal they can get their hands on!!
