It is said purple symbolizes magic, mystery, spirituality, the sub-conscious, creativity, dignity, royalty – and it does evoke all of these meanings more so than any other color. Further variations of purple can convey different meanings. For instance light purples are light-hearted, floral, and romantic. The dark shades are more intellectual and dignified. You either love purple or you don’t. -

There is a small village, Kokofrom just outside Kumasi, Ghana where there are artisans who make lost wax brass beads in the same way as their ancestors. I asked them to create some closures for Funky Frog and this was the most exotic one! Each half of the closure is about 35mm. The closures are hand made so will vary in size and shape. The artisans use whatever scrap metal they can get their hands on form old taps to pipes to .. but they call it 'brass'. -
During 2018 Bead Hunt Funky Frog made a big order from the Kokofrom Cooperative outside Kumasi. These hooks and eyes were made especially for Funky Frog . The process these metal smiths are using is the same as their ancestors... back then it was gold now it is any metal they can get their hands on!!
