    A strand of colourful Handpainted Recycled Glass Beads strung on string 26" long. These beads vary in size, design and colour. The shape is tubular. This strand would make a fabulous necklace as is or broken up would brighten up any project. Definitely one of my favourites!!  The bead is also sustainable as it is made of crushed glass bottles ground to a fine powder. Each bead is then handpainted. A little work of art!!
  • Two bracelet sized strands of about 13 tube hand painted Recycled Glass Beads which are strung on string. The beads are about 20x11 mm and are colourful with a green background and blue,white,red and yellow designs. The beads are all handcrafted so will vary in colour, size and shape. The strands you will received will be similar to the photo but may have variations in colours. These recycled glass beads were handcrafted in Ghana, Africa by crushing old, discarded glass, adding colorant and then pouring the powder into clay molds. The stem of a local plant is added, this burns away during firing, leaving a hole for stringing. The beads are fired in a wood burning earthen oven. The beads are then hand painted and then refired.     A strand of 6 polka dot recycled glass beads. These beads are bought directly from the beads markets of Ghana, West Africa.  These beads are 15 mm  and are black with white polka dots. Several clients  have shopped exclusively for black and white beads hence this 'collection' was born. There is a whole drawer full of Black and White Goodness now on line! $3/6 beads
  • 6 large, tubular White Recycled Glass beads with brown speckles and a smooth, polished satiny finish. The bead is about 26 mm x 16 mm. These beads are handmade so there will be differences in colour and size among the beads. These beads are made by an innovative Bead Designer named Tet. It is always a pleasure to go and see what new designs he has come up with in his small cottage industry in the outskirts of Accra. $5/6 beads There are matching smaller Tubular Beads as seen in second last image here.
  • A strand of 6 hand painted Recycled Glass Beads. These beads are sometimes called bottle glass beads and once made are painted by hand. The design on some these beads resemble eyes and eye beads were used to ward off evil spirits and when worn would protect the wearer from harm. The bead is a bottle  glass. These beads are handmade so will vary in size and colour. Each bead is about 12x14mm. You will receive a strand similar to one of the strands in the photo. This is a way for you to get a variety for your beading. If you would like a strand all the same colour please do not hesitate to contact us. And also remember for most of the strands we will be happy to break them up if you would like to have only a few. These recycled glass beads were purchased straight from the small factory which hand crafts them using the methods of their ancestors, from crushing recycled bottles all the way to firing them in a wood burning oven.
