    A strand of about 39 pink  Sandcast Recycled Glass  Beads  strung on string 23" long. The beads are around 15x10 mm. These recycled glass beads were handcrafted in Ghana, Africa by crushing old, discarded glass, adding colorant and then pouring the coloured powder  into  molds. The stem of a local plant is added, this burns away during firing, leaving a hole for stringing.   The beads are fired in a woodburning earthen oven. Ghana is famous for this type of bead. These beads were designed and made by a Contemporary Bead Designer, TET located near Accra.

These beads were bought in the Agormanya Market from the wonderful Bead section there... from the stall of the Queen of the market. She introduced these beads using old material to make heritage beads very much in the old style. There are two strands to choose from. There are slight variations in the strands but the strands are quite similar. But these are handmade so will vary in colour, size and shape.

The slightly darker brown small beads are here  and the medium size is here.
