There is a small village, Kokofrom just outside Kumasi, Ghana where there are Artisans who make lost wax brass beads in the same way as their ancestors. This Geometric Hexagon Pendant was designed and made for Funky Frog. The Hexagon is about 55 mm (including loop) The artisans use whatever scrap metal they can get their hands on form old taps to pipes to .. but they call it 'brass'. Did you know the hexagon is the most efficient, least wasteful shape found in nature. ... These Pineapple pendants were made especially for Funky Frog by the Kokofrom Cooperative outside Kumasi. The Pineapple is 49 mm including loop. It is said spiritually the Pineapple symbolizes the hospitality of families, true friendship, diplomacy and openhandedness. And apparently the sound of the Chinese word for pineapple is close to the sound of “good luck coming your way,” so the pineapple has become a popular traditional feng shui symbol of wealth, fortune, and prosperity. During a Bead Hunt Funky Frog made a big order from the Kokofrom Cooperative outside Kumasi. These Strawberry pendants were made especially for Funky Frog . The Strawberry is 41 mm including loop. It was fun to read that "the strawberry is a symbol for Venus, the Goddess of Love, because of its heart shapes and red color. ... and that to symbolize perfection and righteousness, medieval stone masons carved strawberry designs on altars and around the tops of pillars in churches and cathedrals."
