Beautiful Olive Wood Prayers Beads .... found in the Koforidua Market in Ghana, W.Africa. There are two shapes to choose from. The round wood beads comes in sets of 12 or 40 beads. The long beads come in sets of 12. These beads are gorgeous and very light weight. There are 3 sizes in this Olive Wood Bead. This is the largest size. The slightly darker brown small beads are here and the medium size is here. -

Two bracelet sized strands of about 33 hand painted Recycled Glass Beads strung each string 8" long. The beads are 5x7 mm and are dark brown with hand painted white+yellow polka dots. These recycled glass beads were handcrafted in Ghana, Africa by crushing old, discarded glass, adding colorant and then pouring the powder into clay molds. The stem of a local plant is added, this burns away during firing, leaving a hole for stringing. The beads are fired in a woodburning earthen oven. Ghana is famous for this type of bead. -

These beads are handmade so they will vary in size, shape and pattern. Purple is a very complex colour. There are so many variations. It is said purple symbolizes magic, mystery, spirituality, the sub-conscious, creativity, dignity, royalty – and it does evoke all of these meanings more so than any other color. Further variations of purple can convey different meanings. For instance light purples are light-hearted, floral, and romantic. The dark shades are more intellectual and dignified. You either love purple or you don’t. -

These recycled glass beads were handcrafted in Ghana, Africa by crushing old, discarded glass, adding colorant and then pouring the powder into clay molds. The different colours come from the different coloured powdered glass that is poured into the molds (rather than being painted on later). The stem of a local plant is added, this burns away during firing, leaving a hole for stringing. The beads are fired in a wood burning earthen oven. Ghana is famous for this type of bead. There are also larger beads this same oatmeally colour as shown in the last photo.. -
