A strand of about 47 hand painted Recycled Glass Beads strung on string 22" long. These beads are sometimes called bottle glass beads and once made are painted by hand. Some of the designs on these beads resemble eyes and eye beads were used to ward off evil spirits and when worn would protect the wearer from harm. There is a mix of green, taupe, clear, white and blue glass beads with various designs hand painted on them. They are handmade so will vary in size and colours. Each bead is approx. 11x14 mm. These recycled glass beads were purchased straight from the small factory which hand crafts them using the methods of their ancestors, from crushing recycled bottles all the way to firing them in a wood burning oven.
